Strategy to Cash®

“Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” You might have heard this old adage from Peter Drucker, the management guru. He believed that employing the right people and developing an empowering workplace culture are critical for business success. Genius. Trouble is, some business owners trot out Drucker’s line to justify their strategic failures. Big mistake. Here’s why.

Strategy is one of three elements essential to your business success. Mind you, strategy is nowhere near as complex as management texts pretend. In my book, it means answering a simple question: how do you want your business to look in one year’s time? Your answer underpins my Strategy to Cash® framework. No strategy means no cash—or at best, a weak cashflow!

People are the second element of Strategy to Cash.® Let’s give Drucker his due here. A toxic, lazy workforce will destroy your business, no matter how good your strategy. But an empowered, energetic team needs to be given a common sense of purpose. Without a clearly articulated strategy, positive and well-intentioned employees can drag your business in the wrong direction.

Metrics are the third element of Strategy to Cash.® Maybe you collect some data, maybe you don’t. Either way, your business will fail without the right data. In Strategy to Cash® I describe the five lead indicators which predict future success—or emerging problems. There’s little point collecting stale data, and no point collecting lead indicators if you don’t put them to use.

I’ve made a video which explains Strategy to Cash® in more detail—including those five lead indicators. Watch it. Get excited. Think how Strategy to Cash® can increase your cashflow and profitability. Check my criteria for new clients. If we’re a match, call me. Together, we can take your business to the next level.
